Introduction

We have always maintained that every student at Forest Hill School has the opportunity to engage in Expressive Arts at whatever level they are called to. We offer studies across Physical Education, Art, Design & Technology, Dance, Drama and Music and use a talented team of specialised tutors, professional artists and educators to deliver performances, recitals, matches, visits and workshops throughout the school calendar.

Forest Hill School also provides an extensive programme of non-statutory arts education benefiting children and young people from local primary, secondary and special schools, as well as individuals and groups (including businesses and services) from within the wider community.

We aim to work collaboratively with schools in order to provide or facilitate high-quality learning opportunities in the subjects of music, dance, drama & art and raise standards of teaching and learning.

As part of its non-statutory programme of arts education and enrichment, the school has worked alongside a host of professional artists and educators; primary, secondary and special schools; and arts and community groups, organisations and institutions, to deliver a diverse range of projects, events and training, benefiting children, young people, art and teaching professionals, and individuals from within the school’s wider community.

Over the last 10 years the Community Performing Arts Team delivered 170 community arts projects.

  • 70 music
  • 46 dance
  • 41 drama
  • 9 combined arts
  • 4 visual arts

The team also delivered events and training activities, benefitting 21,362 students and members of the community, 14,941 of whom were children and young people.
