On Friday night Joe Gomez became Forest Hill’s first full England International when he replaced Phil Jones after 15 minutes.

This is amazing achievement from someone so young and a testament to Joe’s attitude and ability. Joe went on to play a part in Englands 0-0 draw with World Champions Germany at Wembley. He then followed this up in his full debut with a man of the match performance keeping £220 million pound superstar striker Neymar quiet at Wembley on Tuesday evening in the 0-0 draw between England and Brazil.

Joe has made rapid progress from youth scholar at Charlton through to their first team before a transfer to Liverpool two years ago. Joe has been an ever present this season in Jurgen Klopps side and has performed in both the Premier League and Champions League. Friday night saw Joe make his first England senior appearance after representing England at u16,u17, u19 and u21 winning the European Championship and being named in the UEFA team of the tournament on the way.

Everyone at the school is extremely proud of Joe’s achievements and we hope he can make the plane to Russia and be included in the World Cup squad.
