Last term we had a story writing competition in school for year 7 and 8. The best story writers won copies of “The Midnight Gang” by David Walliams and had their stories submitted to the prestigious BBC 500 Words national competition.

The competition was extremely tough with 131,798 entries and only 5,000 go to the second round of judging. but we’ve heard that THE NIGHT OF LONG SWORDS by Jack Byrne S8F has gone through to the next round!

We will find out in May if Jack’s story has made it to the final 50 and the prestigious award ceremony will be in June.
