School Council

The Forest Hill School Council exists to give our students a voice and the opportunity to take responsibility for improving the school in a variety of different ways.

The school council comprises students from across the year groups who meet regularly to discuss ideas and issues, and to set agendas.

The focus for the 2019/20 academic year is:

  • Fundraising through sports and gaming tournaments
  • (A renewed focus on) raising awareness of gang violence
  • Working with the premises team to tackle litter around the school
  • Organising the first FHS public forum

During December 2019, the school council supported the local initiative, Big Red Box, which involved placing boxes around the school for collecting food for those who might otherwise have gone without last Christmas. They filled several boxes, which were then distributed to families and individuals in need across SE London.

Any students wishing to be involved in the school council should speak to Ms Thomas.
