GCSE Results 2024
Whilst the national GCSE pass rate fell for the third year running, Forest Hill students achieved our best ever GCSE results for the third consecutive year, reflecting the continued hard work and dedication of our students and staff.
We are delighted that 25% of all grades awarded were the highest (7-9) grades, which is above the national average. A provisional Progress 8 figure of +0.34 puts us well ahead of all students both nationally and in London (which performs better than the rest of the country), and significantly so for boys. Disadvantaged and SEND students also made positive progress this year.
It was a pleasure to welcome Councillor Amanda de Ryk, Cabinet Member for Finance and Strategy, Ellie Reeves, MP for Lewisham West and Penge, Brenda Dacres, Mayor of Lewisham, and Councillor Sakina Sheikh to the school to celebrate with students as they received their results on Thursday 22 August.
Headteacher, Michael Sullivan, said:
“Our students have been celebrating excellent results across the board and the whole school community is extremely proud of both their individual achievements and their success as a cohort. Strong results do not happen automatically – they are evidence of the exceptional commitment and determination of FHS students who received outstanding support from our dedicated staff and supportive parents. We are delighted that many of our students will be coming back to SFH6 to continue their studies. Others will be going onto apprenticeships and other educational establishments, and we wish all of our students every success in the future.”
