Welcome Presentation, 6 May 2020
In the absence of our planned Welcome Evening on 5 May 2020, we provided a video of the presentation for families to view at home.
Every year, we provide two booklets to new families: Information for New Parents and A Guide to Year 7 (for students). PDFs of these booklets can be viewed by clicking on the images below.
Be Awesome, Go Big is an information package designed to help Year 6 pupils (and their parents) transition into Year 7 – offering motivational, helpful and reassuring resources to help pupils feel ready and equipped for the journey ahead.
Resources for Year 6 Pupils – The lessons are based on the books You Are Awesome by Matthew Syed and Go Big by Matthew Burton. Each session takes pupils through some big ideas to help them on their way to secondary school.
Resources for Parents and Carers – These resources provide information, tips and questions to help parents and carers talk to their child about the transition and help prepare them for starting secondary school.
New Student Admissions Forms
As part of the transition to Year 7, we require the following forms to be completed for every student. The forms can either be downloaded and completed electronically (Word version) or printed and completed by hand (PDF version).
All school policies can be viewed here.
At the back of the Y7 Admissions form, parents/carers are required to sign that they have read and understood the following list of statements and policies:
Child Protection Statement (P.29 of Information for New Parents / See also Child Protection Policy)
School Partnership Form (P.28 of Information for New Parents)
Internet Permission Form (P.31 of Information for New Parents)
Mobile Phones Policy (P.32 of Information for New Parents / See also Relationships and Behaviour Policy)
